Also try the ice-cream shop right there. Same guy runs both places.
Awesome. Hot chocolate was the best!!
Cash only-we had good coffee and a very tasty pastry..was expensive though with $10 bill just for 2 items.
Cool little coffee shop at the top of the incline. Staff were super friendly and drinks were great.
A little over priced, and I stopped by with my daughter because I thought she would enjoy the food, but no one was there to wait on us. We stood inside for about 10 minutes and never seen anyone
Excellent coffee, fudge, and hospitality
Such good pastries!!! I wish I lived closer so I could frequent this place more.
You absolutely cannot find a better cup of coffee or conversation anywhere!
Only one barista and someone 2 in front of me ordered 4 coffees to go. I left and the person behind me left.
Delicious latte. Great service. Pricey, but what you'd expect for a tourist stop!
Didn't get to try anything. Went in during business hours; a customer was sitting there drinking. We called for anyone if we could order... No response. Customer said that the person stepped out a while ago and hadn't returned yet. She left after finishing her drink and said if she saw them she'd let them know there were customers. We left after waiting a few minutes. A shame, wanted an Italian soda.
Ordered a latte and who I assumed is the owner just gave me two pumps of coffee from the carafe and some foamy milk. Was more interested in talking to his friends and could care less about customers. Complete scam and would give a 0 if I could. Cash only, no receipt??
Great experience, owner was very friendly and had a good attitude. Shop had a lot of charm. Cash only so be advised but still great coffee.
I don’t know if when we came here 5 years ago it was different owners or if they have just let the place go but coffee was disgusting. Horrible and stale. Milk was just poured into my cappuccino from a jug that was just sitting there for who knows how long and topped up with a bit of fresh foamed milk. Served in to-go cups and server was more interested in hanging out with his buddies drinking beer there than caring about the coffee. Cakes looked stale and uninviting. We walked out quickly and dumped our $10 worth of drinks straight in the trash.
Owner a great guy. Cute little coffee shop right in the heart of Mt. Washington.
This locally owned coffee shop is a breath of fresh air. The coffee was amazing and the owner was very humble. I was walking my dog and didn't have any cash on me. The owner gave me "one on the house." I will definitely be returning to this coffee shop in the near future. It is also in a great location, being on shiloh street and all. It is surrounded by great restaurants and shops, all within walking distance. Thanks again for the fresh cup of joe!
Hands down the best apple cider I've ever had.
What is your phone number? The one stated is disconnected.
Friendly service.
Owner was very friendly. Shop has such a cute charm to it. Coffee was AMAZING. It was my first time in this coffee shop and it is by far my favorite place on Mount Washington.
delicious coffee.and yummy pastries.and awesome employees.
Chocolate chip cookie was OUT OF THIS WORLD!! Probably one of the best ones I’ve ever had. Too delicious.
Real nice guys
Hot chocolate options were plenty and it was pretty good, so 4 stars for that part I guess. But 1 star for the rest. Employee was less than pleasant. Seemed put out to have to wait on us and even worse to even talk to us about possible lunch options in the area. Simple abrupt answers like "no" to lunch options, and "it's a diner" when asking if he'd ever been to the place up the street. Um yeah, we kind of kind of gathered that much on our own. Whatever.Oh and make sure you bring cash. Found out too late that it's a cash-only joint. Would have been nice to know that up front. In hindsight, there were no "we accept visa/mc/amex" kinds of stickers on the the windows so that's on me I guess. But what do you know, there is an ATM right there on site! So for a $2.75 withdrawal fee that the owner charges, I was able to pay $12.75 for my 2 hot chocolates instead of an already pricey $10. Oh well, those are the breaks sometimes when venturing outside the "norms".
If you’re not from Pittsburgh you won’t understand this place, don’t take it personal. Owner is like a true Pittsburgh neighbor & the coffee is usually decent. If nobody is in the shop to take your order it’s because they own the ice cream shop as well and they bounce back and forth. Just go over and give him a holler. Both places are cash only.
$6 for a Medium Mocha. cash only with high fee atm.
Amazing coffee and conversation!! A must go at the top of the Mon Incline. Thanks!!
Todd is awesome! Best cafe EVER!
Shop was open but no one there to take my order. Guy ran in, took my order, gave me coffee, then left again without asking my friend if she wanted anything. Which she did. We stood around for 5 minutes and he never came back. Terrible customer service.
The one guy working there was friendly, but he couldn't be bother to get off his phone while we were placing the order. That's very unprofessional in my opinion. Everything was definitely overpriced. We got one cookie and it cost us $5 (don't get me wrong, it was delicious but I definitely would not pay $5 for it). No prices are listed either which is annoying so I didn't know it would be that much until he was ringing us up.
Overpriced pastries and so so coffee.
I know a guy that knows a guy
The day after Christmas my family and I were walking around. We tried to find somewhere to get my son some food, he's 4. he was really hungry and we couldn't find anywhere with quick enough service for him. We walked in and saw that it was cash only and told him thank you but we didn't have cash. He offered and gave my son breakfast for free and offered coffees. Great guy.
Exceptionally bad coffee. Cappuccino tasted burnt, like maybe they reused the grounds.
Convenient short walk from a view over the city. Cash only, no decaf espresso, and a bad latte.
Friendly service and a great Americano
It's cash only but you don't realize that until you already place your order. Coffee tastes like gas station coffee and the service is awful. There are far better options in the area so don't waste your money here.
Happy and surprised to be in service throughout Covid19. Been there more than once.Family owned. Very attentive to customers needs. Awesome selection of custom coffee. White chocolate satin ice coffee my favorite, so far. Local, fresh fish fillet sandwiches on the spot (two sandwich size in one fulfillment). Their Ice cream smooth and delightful. Cannot wait to go back for more.
White satin mocha latte-- probably the best latte I've ever had!! Absolutely amazing. Great guy owns the shop-- super friendly. Such a welcoming place!
Service was terrible!!! All for stale coffee. I could not get out of this place fast enough. Never again!!!
Wrong change was given back. Owner had an 11 am appointment so had to unkindly rush us out of there. He was also pretty loud in there talking on phone and to friends that came in. ( The shop has a phone but the number advertised is not in service. )There's many other coffee shops out there with better service & coffee.
Terrible. Walked in and the owner/guy behind the counter was on his cell phone. Acted like I was interrupting him. Ordered two iced coffees and a bagel. Didn't get the bagel. He went and sat outside, had to find him to refill the creamer as it was empty. Asked for our bagel, didn't get the cream cheese we ordered. The bagel itself was hard and stale. Do not bother spending your hard earned money here.
Cute store. Cash only. Terrible coffee and expensive pastries. Bakery down the road is much better.
Small quiet shop, great aroma. Had a good time with friends. Loved the decorations.
Great variety of coffees and other drinks, fantastic varieties of goodies as fudge and other snacks, and great service, fair prices for great deals.Must stop when in Mount Washington.
I've had the same experience as many others.. Stopped in one morning to grab a small iced coffee. There was nobody present to take my order. A few regulars were sitting around drinking coffee, and mentioned that the owner had stepped out, but should be back shortly. 8 minutes pass and the owner walks in. He doesn't apologize in any way, and he does not greet me. I then place my order and pay. The small (black) iced coffee was $3.00. If I'm paying $3.00 for a small iced coffee, I'd just go to Starbucks and get an even bigger size, with better service. Please avoid this business at all costs.
I would pay six dollars for a good whoopie pie. I wouldn't again pay for one from a dude who wears no gloves and gets stuff all over the otherwise mediocre pie. Nor would I pay 5 dollars for a medium hot chocolate again. As well, he doesn't take cash so you have to use the $3 ATM. If you like the desperately trying to be cute coffeeshop then go here, otherwise take your money to a better establishment
Delicious Coffee
My mother loves bone-dry cappuccinos, but not many baristas can pull it off. I can't even count how many times we've left a cafe and she's complained about it on the way home. This time, she couldn't stop raving. Said it was made perfectly and couldn't wait to visit Pittsburgh to have another one.
The owner is racist and not a nice person in general
